#099 "Not Trash- Booty!"

Date: 8/1/05

Unfortunately, I couldn't fit a pirate joke into the comic itself (literally- there wasn't enough space to fit the bubbles), so the title takes the crown instead.

What pirate joke? Oh. Add the following onto panel 2:
Ty: That sucks.
Dom: Yarr.
See? Told ya it woulda been gold. Obv.

But yea, this is kinda taking a stab (pun!) at Jitte critics. Before you guys get angry, allow me to say this: I've never even played Kamigawa constructed. So I'm not speaking from experience- you guys just make yourselves easy to mock by being so vocal. By all means- continue your cause.

Moving on to the T-Shirts. I'm hoping some of you simply missed Friday's post or didn't have the time to E-Mail me over the weekend, because the response I've gotten so far is disappointing. Since I'm going away this entire week, I'll give you guys until I come back- next Tuesday- to send me in at least 18 shirt order requests. I'll copy all of the info from Friday's post down below, so you all know exactly what's going on.

Okay, now onto this other idea I have. As many of you know (all those who can count, that is), UGM number 100 is coming up very soon. As sort of a celebration, I've been tossing some ideas around in my head. One of them is this:

I have found a good, reliable T-shirt printer online. He does work for a number of other webcomics that I read, and I have never seen any complaints about his work. At any rate, he's better than Cafepress.

So my idea is this: I would like to do a print run of a T-shirt, open to any who are interested. The only problem here is that in order to print a 2 color shirt, I need to order at least 18 shirts. There are about 400 of you readers out there nowadays, so here's my plea:

If you are at all interested in purchasing a T-shirt, please do so. I will be collecting a very small overhead from the sales of these shirts to help pay the hosting bills for this site, which get more and more expensive the larger my readership grows.

Oh, you want facts? My bad. Here's how it goes. The shirts themselves would cost $10. You would also pay an additional $4 shipping charge, bringing the total cost to $14. For a special edition UGM shirt. I would also offer international shipping if you really wanted it, but I'd have to talk about the shipping price a bit.

The shirts themselves would be the UGM logo (blue lettering in a green oval, as seen top right of your screen), and would be available on either a green, black, or blue shirt. Personally, I think the blue is the best background for the shirt (eerily similar to Ty's shirt today...), but it's up to you.

So here's how it works: You send me an e-mail if you're interested. You tell me your name, and what color and size (S through XXL) you're interested in. I gather all of these e-mails and pray that I get at least 18 of them. Then I'll let you guys know, hopefully by Monday, what's going to happen. If I did get enough, we'll set up some sort of payment contraption then.

Please help me make this work! It would be really cool if this happened.
