#100 "No Less Than Fifteen Panels"

Date: 8/5/05

Wow. One Hundred Comics. That's a real milestone. I honestly didn't know what I was getting into when I made that first harmless comic. And here I am now, making a fifteen-panel monstrosity for my one-hundreth.

I guess what I should be doing is thanking you guys. Without any readers, I would never have bothered to get this far. Unlike real artists, my reward comes from having others view my work- extrinsic value rather than intrinsic. So thanks guys, and I hope you'll stay with me for another 100. Hell- invite your friends to join our growing community, too!

In celebration, I've got a bit of a special treat coming on Monday. I hope you all like it.

But first- an update on the shirts! There is now a very real possibility this will work out- we only need a handful of orders to reach the 18 mark. So e-mail me and let me know you're interested!

There is one small change, though- it only affects one or two of you. Talking to the printer, I realized I'd made a gave mistake on the shirt-color options. That is to say, there is no option. In order to look right, the shirts will all have to be blue. This is fine for most of you, but there were one or two people that expressed an interest in black shirts. For those that did- please e-mail me and let me know if you're still interested in a blue shirt, or if you had your heart set on black and are no longer interested. For the rest of you that had said they wanted blue anyway, don't worry- you're fine.

Below is the rest of the information you need.

Okay, now onto this other idea I have. As many of you know (all those who can count, that is), UGM number 100 is coming up very soon. As sort of a celebration, I've been tossing some ideas around in my head. One of them is this:

I have found a good, reliable T-shirt printer online. He does work for a number of other webcomics that I read, and I have never seen any complaints about his work. At any rate, he's better than Cafepress.

So my idea is this: I would like to do a print run of a T-shirt, open to any who are interested. The only problem here is that in order to print a 2 color shirt, I need to order at least 18 shirts. There are about 400 of you readers out there nowadays, so here's my plea:

If you are at all interested in purchasing a T-shirt, please do so. I will be collecting a very small overhead from the sales of these shirts to help pay the hosting bills for this site, which get more and more expensive the larger my readership grows.

Oh, you want facts? My bad. Here's how it goes. The shirts themselves would cost $10. You would also pay an additional $4 shipping charge, bringing the total cost to $14. For a special edition UGM shirt. I would also offer international shipping if you really wanted it, but I'd have to talk about the shipping price a bit.

The shirts themselves would be the UGM logo (blue lettering in a green oval, as seen top right of your screen), and would be available on a blue shirt.

So here's how it works: You send me an e-mail if you're interested. You tell me your name, and what color and size (S through XXL) you're interested in. I gather all of these e-mails and pray that I get at least 18 of them. Then I'll let you guys know, hopefully by Monday, what's going to happen. If I did get enough, we'll set up some sort of payment contraption then.

Please help me make this work! It would be really cool if this happened.
